Hey Jim,, You rec. some great advice, from the previous threads, so all I will add is , always go Radial!!!!! No comparison vs the Bias!!!! If you lived closer, I could hook you up!!

I guess the term Light Truck is in the broader sense. So a 1 ton dually is considered a light truck when compared to a Kenworth.

The 15" ST225 75R15's are only a "D" rating. I think I'm gonna be fine with the 15's until I can afford a new trailer. The boat should last forever.

The LT tires are the way to go. And the "E" rating too.

"E"==10 ply rating
"D"==8 ply rating

The cost between "D & E" isn't that much and the 10 ply rating is the far superior choice.

Run radials. Only downside is the sidewalls are easily bruised on kissing curbs, etc. So be careful. You're suppose to be anyway...

Jim,
If you only have 5 lugs they are most probably 3500 pound axles, I have quite a few axle and wheel catalogs and no one makes heavier axles with 5lugs, they go to 6 or 8 lugs for their 5200 pound axles. A few manufacturers made 3750 pound axles with 5 lugs but I couldn't find anybody that still does. You left beore I got a chance to ask you about your bow stop the other night, if you want we can still build one, let me know..
Later,
Caleb

Everyone I have ever btalked to has always said bias ply on a trailer. They are said to follow straiter (Is that a word?) I have generals under my trailer that weights over 16.000 lbs, and I have had no probelems.

Caleb, Thanks for looking into that. I was afraid of that with the axles. How much are new axles?

Anyone got a Cafe Racer trailer for sale?

I'll hold off on the bow stop until I figure the axle thing out.
