shelf life of resin?

Need to do some repairs to the boat. I have some vinyl ester resin, about a year old. Does anyone know if this or the harding agent has a shelf life. Thanks

not sure if they have an actual shelf life, i've never seen one listed on a can. . . . i would definetly do a test piece, you will know if it is bad by how it cures . . . i have had old resins refuse to cure or cure in clumps. if the resin has went through a bunch of temp changes it may not be any good.

Polyester has a shelf life on 6 weeks:eek:

Just called my cousins husband and Vinallester has about a one year shelf life for perfect cure. He said to turn it over to get the hardeners to float up off the bottom again. Then do a test strip for sure and make sure that it not only hardens but also does not harden brittle. He said you are best buying new stuff.
