Prop Picking
 

Hi everyone!! I just picked up a 1985 242 Formula with a 350SB and Alpha. I have a 17 pitch aluminum prop on it and it is not getting me over 4000 RPMS. I know these motors go up to at least 4500 RPMS, if not a little more. I am getting 41 mph top speed. I was going to switch to a Stainless steel prop. But i want to find the right one. I don't know the Diameter that is on it now, but I want to increase top speed, and basically be able to get full RPM's. Anyone know a good Pitch and Diameter for me. I think i have to lower the pitch and lower the Diameter? I dont know though. Please help!
