Wow, looks like I owe a few responses.
Below is a link to a live stream video from prop testing earlier today. 12 min vid of Trevor & Paul in action, unfortunately not the best quality but for me it was like I was there. I originally posted the link in a new thread this afternoon right as they begun. I personally couldn't access it live but can view it now. Reception in that neck of the woods is somewhat sketchy! 5 blade 37's w/ 1/2 drive spacers= noticebaly slower acceleration, felt more hooked up, same top speed, with room to spare but ran out of real estate. Guesstimate was there may have been 3-5 mph left. Same props yesterday w/o spacers pegged the limiter w/ a half mi or so to spare. Currently looking to get our hands on a pair of 16.5 x 39's 18 deg 5 blades so if you know of anyone who might be willing to allow Sakter to test them w/ full responsibility please hit me up. Would prefer they be the std cut not the 1200h.p. which are thicker. Since we don't have any more props to test Trevor & Paul may swap the drives (which can be done by removing the shroud, trim cylinder & 2 pivot pins. ILMOR says they can remove & replace a drive in 30 mins no problem. Not sure how this compares to a #6 but it sounds relatively easy beyond the weight) & spin them out just for handling comparison. The gut feeling is they will end up spinning in as the boat was set up before. When I asked Peter if he actually had any boats that preferred outward rotation he stated it was about a 50/50 split much to my surprise. Enjoy! http://qik.com/doscorn |

Holy Sh*t!!! Really??? It's NASCATS Boat, He Boats on a lake in NC, If he want's to Set his boat up for acceleration He Can. He doesn't have to set a Top speed for a 30' Skater. 1:50s open up a bigger array of props to try. He's working with a bunch of smart people.1) The Company who built the Boat 2) The Company that built the Motors and drives. Do you think there is More usefull Data than they can provide? You seem to. It's a thread about redoing his boat and how it goes throughout the build. Nothing More, It wasn't to convert merc owners to swap motors, it was about repowering HIS Boat,Jeez...
First off who are you talking to? Was anything in my post addressed to you Speedoc uhhh NO! Second learn some etiquette as a charter member you should have more tact or is there an undisclosed agenda. As for the prize patrol Stainless if that is the case you should have put some HP525's in your boat put some XR drives in it and cruise around at 95MPH and put some cash in the bank. Does the cliche "Do as I say not as I do" come to mind please gimme me a break. Sorry Nascat didn't mean to ruin your build party carryon. KAP |
