Michael i know this sounds old school but have you tried putting some weight up front just to see if it is a CG thing . I remember we had to do it in the first tunnel we drag raced until we figured the boat out,ask Rick about the weight box:eek: I know that is not a fix but it will at least let you know if weight is what you are dealing with.

I think I found it. Is it a TH pedal? It appears I have room for it too. CP makes a nice steering wheel mounted trim switch but as discussed steering wheel is rarely in the same position throughout the day.
Hot Trim™ Foot Trim Control Floor mounted trim is an excellent safety item in boat performance accessories. Mounts in floor of boat allowing operator to trim engine with foot. Attractive black matte unit comes prewired with wiring instructions to connect it to existing trim wiring. Part # Description HT-1 HOT TRIM™ - Foot Trim Control Unit |
That's it. Works very well. Your foot rests in it and will not easily come out.

Dropped NASCAT off to Ben Robertson at BAR Marine in SC today. He's attacking the custom tunnel tab project and a few other things for me.
The pics below are of an MTI but the same principal. Tab will be fabricated out of 1" polyethylene sheet, reusing rams & pump from trim tabs, brackets, hoses & accesories courtesy of Latham. The one pictured is mounted to the transom rigid w/ a piece of angle, mine will have a hinge and custom rigged to work w/ my L.E.D. indicators. Ben wants to fabricate some verical pieces out of 1/4" powder coated aluminum that will extend rearward of the transom 12" or so acting as a tunnel extention which will prevent the air from escaping around the sides / edges of the plastic tab itself. The race boat pictured doesn't have those. Ben also recommended shortening my sticks & adding individual drive trim switches to each. Currently I have 1 switch that operates both drives but they don't always move up or down at the same rate. Hope to be able to add a 3rd switch to the side of port throttle for the tunnel tab. Details & pics to follow..... |
While he's doing it. Have him make a couple extra tabs. Wouldn't be that expensive. I noticed CRC's tab was warped and discolored a bit. It would be nice to have another with the same dimensions you could just throw on.
