In Recognition Of Steves Efforts

When Jay and Speedgirl and I worked on getting Steve started on the Thad Allen thread we never thought that this history lesson and the following boat building thread would achieve this much attention.

Steves efforts and attention to these threads has obviously been very time consuming.
A fantastic amount of knowledge has been passed on and some time today his Powerplay thread is going to hit the 100k mark in viewership.

On behalf of all of us that have learned so much and enjoyed all of this we would just like to say THANK YOU STEVE.

I had the privilege of owning a 33PP and know first hand the quality of the boat, it was my dreamboat for a long time and it did not disappoint. Seeing Steve's posts just confirmed what those of us who own/owned one already knew. Thanks for the thread Steve!!

Uncle Dave 07-23-2010 10:51 AM

Congratulations!

A superbly documented, written, and detailed thread.

I was entertained, informed, and enlightened.

Steves thread was a refuge at the end of the work day for, a place to go to be with the guys - to "talk" and laugh about my very favorite things- boats!

Participation like this is extraordinary.

There is a lot more coming, mold building and the boats.I enjoyed working with Danny at his Powerplay ,when a friend Mike Nicholson said he was very picky, that proved the understatement of the year.

CigDaze 07-23-2010 11:24 AM

A huge THANK YOU is definitely in order. That ranks right up there with one of the best boating threads ever! Thanks Steve.
:)

Couldn't have said it better! I loved my 33! Many people now "GET" why we always praise PP's against anything else out there floating around. PP is 2nd to none.

rlj676 07-23-2010 04:28 PM

Another special thanks from a PP owner!

I thought my boat was special, but now everyone else can see why.:drink:

Steve,

Although I visited the factory many times over the years, I never had the opportunity to meet you. THANK YOU for laying up one of the best damn boats in the world. Matter of fact, I like your work so much, I own two examples of them now.

When I reflect on the 20 years of hard work that you, Danny and others put into producing Powerplays, along with the hundreds of boats and happy customers that resulted from your work, I'm saddened that a couple unhappy customers and disgruntled workers were able to exploit a relatively new media to bring about the demise of an otherwise exceptional product, company and people.

As a bystander, as well as a manufacturer, and now the admin of YachtForums, I have been very careful to prevent this from happening within the big boat building community.

Congrats Steve. Job well done! And congrats to OSO for being the most informative and entertaining media in the performance boat business. You have set the standard in which others can only hope to emulate.

Sir I thank you for the nice comments ,Powerplay was like home too a lot of us and Dan was both a Boss and a friend who we would never let down, the Pride in workmanship was through out the working crew. Now if I went to work and did not make an appearance in the glass shop Medina would send a helper to get me and ask what is the matter? no good morning ? are you mad at us? we were a tight group.

I just spent my I year anniversary of owing my PP running lake Erie again this past weekend, she does like it rough. And in a crowded Put In Bay harbour her design stands out. The attention to quality speaks for itself. Thanks Steve and thanks to the crew you worked with!
