Default Lake to Ocean.. Advice please.

Hello,

I'm a WEST coast boater, Ive had many lake boats and always boated on the lake, ive had a 28 Eliminator daytona with 2 525 sc's.. and my current boat is a 26 daytona, light layup with a teague 1000. I have a home in Newport beach and want to change things up a bit and im looking for a "ocean boat". Not sure if i want another cat or switch to a V. My use for it would be to go out and play around, make some runs to Catalina and long beach. something with some power around 30-42 ft.

just looking for some advice on a builder/brand would suit my needs.

thank you in advance.

MG

Oh boy, here we go! You are going to have every brand loyalist try and sell you on their current flavor, and about 150 people trying to sell you their used boat.

You need to establish a budget first.
What is your towing capacity if you plan to tow this boat?
Do you want a full, decked out & usable cabin, or just want to hit the water and go fast?

Good luck in your search!

Oh, and take a look at Active Thunder too.

It all depends on how much you are looking to spend.

LOL! Thats right on the money, dont forget half telling him he needs a
semi to tow anything over 20ft , failing to mention its a buyers market because they want to sell their overpriced boat, and when he does say a budget everyone will start naming boats that cost 50% more than that.
STill fun to read through though...

As to the original post,, yes establishing your price range helps a lot..
