that does'nt sound very good for the sport. Who would pay anyway?

Ron P 05-03-2002 10:32 AM

I was going to book my vacation to the keys around this race. I was shocked to see the price of $150 for a ticket.

I don't want to meet Nick Carter, I just wanted to watch the race.

$10 bucks I could see, but $150???? Give me a break. If you doubt it, got to APBA site

As it turns out, we will be there a week late.

ron p. seeing is beleiving isnt it also i thought you were going to skeeter fest either way have a good time:cool:

Here is the real scoop:

Race headquarters is to be established at Hawk’s Cay Resort, while the wet pits are to be situated at Blackfin Resort. Florida Keys Marathon Airport is to serve as dry pits.

A one-day race viewing pass on the bridge costs $15, a two-day ticket runs $25. A combination pass providing viewing and access to the race village costs $40 per person.

A special VIP viewing area providing lunch buffet, race poster and a chance to encounter Nick and Aaron Carter cost $100 for one day and $150 for two days.

So, as it turns out, I'll be the official photographer at Skaterfest on 5/18 and 19. Then we arrive in Hawks Cay for a vacation on 5/25. One week after the races. Oh well.

Charging to meet racers and celeb's? Hmmm, I don't know if that is good or bad.

Is Nick Carter making his apperance for free?

CigDaze 05-03-2002 11:39 AM

$150.00 is really pushing it...but then again you get to eat lunch with Nick Carter--WOOHOO! :D

Anyway, I really don't think it's that big of a problem...$15.00 for a day is alright with me...I mean, when's the last time you saw a ball game or hockey game for free...I don't think getting into Daytona or Indy is all too cheap either...The way I see it, if more money can be generated by the organization and funneled to the racers prize purses I'm all for it!

i'll pay for good seats. i don't want to pay for the hype. i think nick carter is all hype. if you want to see nick, then go to a back street concert.
