It better be a race bc i paid for my hotel already, ha. But yes Bodyshot is right, starts Fri May 31st and goes to sunday the 2nd. I saw a website about it, let me look for it and i will post again. post back later

To the best of my knowledge it is still on. The city still has it listed on their events schedule. You may want to check with the guys at Offshore Performance (410-827-0200) or with Pwrbt33 on this board. They had a hand in the race last year along with MAPA and I imagine that they will be here in force again this year. While you have Offshore Performance on the phone, check with them about their poker run. I am not sure what the dates are, but I believe that it is the first or second weekend of June! The way it looks right now, we will be in Brick, NJ for the SBI regional on June 1st and 2nd, but please take the time to check out some of our sponsors if you come to Ocean City.....

Commander Hotel - www.commanderhotel.com - located on the boardwalk...great location to view the races.

Atlantic Hotel - www.atlantichotelocmd.com - on the boardwalk near the rides at Somerset Street...an Ocean City landmark.

Caruso Pizza - Best pizza on the boardwalk...downtown near the rides...fill up on hot pizza, huge subs and cold beer there after the race is over.

Hey boat girl. We did not attend the SBI race in Miami because the new boat was not finished. We will be in Ft. Myers and then most of the remaining SBI events after that. I will certainly tell Scooter Boy that you said hello. He will not be with us in Ft. Myers because of his work schedule, but he should be with us for the rest of the year.

I found this page http://www.atlanticbreezes.com/pwrboat.htm but it doesn't have a lot of information. I haven't been able to locate a schedule or anything like that. Who is sponsoring this event? Maybe they could enlighten us....:D

after talking to a few racers and emailing apba i was told that there would not be races at Ocean City MD this year, www.ococean.com also says that

Mark -- Where does it say the race won't be held in that website? The was a little blurb for May 31 that indicated there might be an event. Who knows?:confused:

guy at full tilt marine that races a warlock says there was no race and whoever emailed me from abpa said, "there will be no abpa race there"

The latest I heard from the MAPA race director is the race has been postponed to September. Apparently there were some safety concerns and they moved the date up. Hope it happens, OC is nice in the fall:D

insptech, Didnt they have it later in the season a few years ago also, maybe another race, not really sure now. I will be in the Police Acad. then, hopefully i dont get any demerits so i can come home that weekend.

Also MAPA had a site last year calling it the Art Lilly invtational, is that site still up so we can all monitor if they are going to have the race. Thanks for your input.

We are staying at our family's condo at Blue Water East at 138th street. I'll be there with my wife, Stacy, our 6 week old, Aedan, and our 2 year old, Alix. :eek: If I can pry myself away I'll definately give you a call.

Most of the OC races were in the fall, last years was the first one in June. They usually coincided with the custom car run. They have a site www.mapa.net but last time I checked there was no info on it. After I get finished here I guess I'll go look :D We will also try to keep www.cbpba.com updated if any new info becomes available.

Mark-are you gonna be the guy that makes all the siren and car sounds(Police Academy;) )??

also insptech, being a cbpba member, do you have any info on why the june 15th poker run is so high priced 650 +175 per person after 2, i did sarasota for 550 +75 per, the main reason why i am not doing that one this year

I am not sure who is doing the one on the 15th but we are doing the Bay swim on the 16th so if you want something to do-it's all free and you get a meal and a slip from the deal.

damm, your run is perfect, runs in my back yard, great price and it part of the ches. power boat club, still have openings? i wont have my new boat yet but "velocityMikes" velocity is what we are doing the potomac run in and we would definetly do yours too. Also i think Mears Point and Frank at Offshore are conducting the June 15th one

Hey Mark, the potomac run is June 15th Thats the one i am doing with steve, Pat, and troy. Already paid our money to do that run.

Thunder on the Chesapeake poker run is June 21-23, (not June 15) being hosted by Mears point marinan (where Red Eye's is located) and being sanctioned by APRA. There is a limit to the first 50 boats registered and sign up fee is 650 initial and 175 per additional person. Contact Mears Point Marina for info. Very expensive (not including gas- there will be a lot of running) but should be a good time.

I know there are still openings for the South Poker Run, but I am not sure about slips. Call Kenny at the number on the page and he will give you more details. We also have a Central Run leaving Red Eye's and returning there on July 20th-details will be posted shortly. It will be a single day run and will also be reasonably priced.

Dave, sorry i dont know the exact stops, It is put on by Mears Point marina. So i would imagine the start or finish or both would be at red eyes. "VelocityMike" called Mears Point and got a info packet bc we were going to do that one until we saw the price, since we would have 5-6 people in the boat. It had the stops in it so if you want just call them and they will get one out to you. MDbotr informed me that it is an APRA event so i would also think that their website would post card stops. Sorry i couldnt help more.

OK, you are talking about a Poker Run. I was thinking of something else. The weekend of July 20th there are Hydroplane races in Cambridge, on the Choptank River.

Oh yeah dave, i forgot about that race. That is there every year if I remember right. I have never been but wanted to. Eastern Bay /Kent Narrows has something ever year too.

I think you are right as that being Thunder on the bay and Thunder on the Ches. being the poker run.

Blackjack, i wish i would have known sooner, i am part owners of a motel in Wildewood that i could have come and stayed at and definetly gone to the race.

Confirmed, the OC Race is postponed until September but no other details yet. Keep you posted here, on Mapa.net and on the CBPBA.COM site

To answer the other question, there are a bunch of poker runs in the bay this year, but we're only involved in 4 of the 6 I know about. 3 of those 4 are booking and scheduled, including the Leukemia Run (which we are participating in) who will put your boat name on the official t-shirt by enrolling before May 31 (tomorrow). All the details are on the club site. For convenience, you can "Subscribe" to the proper forums at CBPBA and MAPA to get an email notification when a new post is made.
