Aged Race Fuel

How long does the fuel stay good if kept sealed in a 55 gal drum?

Omerta we buy in the spring and try to use it all the same year ,if we have a barrel or 2 that makes it to the following year we add a couple gallons of Toulene to be on the safeside ..sealed /unopened you should have no problems at all .good luck :drink:

should be fine for a while if kept sealed. call your fuel distributor to make sure though.

We have tested our fuel up to 3 and as much as 5 years down the road with vrey small octane decrease. If you are using a Unleaded race fuel (102, 105 etc) it will be less because it more than likely has ethanol in it. A sealed drum is also not 100% "sealed" unless its in a heated and air conditioned enviroment. Heat will cause a drum to suck in and pull in air. If you leave a drum outside make sure and cover the drum with a plastic tarp so water wont build up on the top and seep into the drum during heat fluxuations. We operate a race fuel company/blending facility so if you have any further questions feel free to ask.

Thx for the feedback, the fuel was donated for a charity auction in advance of the LOTO Shootout by a fuel supplier and has been kept inside in conditioned space. Just wanted to make sure it was ok before it goes up for auction. Its a 55 gal drum of Renegade 110 and the proceeds will go to benefit a local girl seriously injured in a boating accident and has been in a coma. If your interested in bidding call Bob Miller at 573-216-9368.

BTW non-ethanol 91 and 93 is availble at the pumps here at the lake, both on water and land locations.

Do any of the marinas have 110 octane at LOTO this year?

You can call Bob Miller and he'd be happy to take care of you. He is close to the shootout course as well. Racetrack cove 28.5MM on the lake (in the cove across from the hard right corner when running up the lake past Tan Tar A). He got race fuel for me and Lockton (Wicked MTI) last year.

Millers Landing Marina 573-216-9368.

They also have a full fuel dock with 93 non-ethanol and diesel and a nice little restaraunt/bar there.
