Thanks guys, I ordered the springs that were mentioned above, and I'm going to take the merc ones apart and try to alter those springs and see where it goes from there. I'll post pics and my findings and will hopefully help someone else with a similar problem someday.

Opps, didn't get that part.

Ok got my springs, climbed in tonight to take one apart and after 30min of cleaning to get all the oil out from my $900 KE investment for 2 piece valve covers that leak and still leak after they sent me "Up Dated" bases, I got the merc one out and compared it to the new one. My finding was the Merc one needed 34lbs of psi to fully compress, and the new one need 21.4 psi to fully compress. So I am going to put the new one in and also cut 2 of the new ones 1/4 inch off and take it out for a burn. If the new ones still have too much psi I'll try the new "shortened" ones after and see where we end up. I'll post me results for ya. Thanks again.

Well, I took them apart and the spring in the pic with the orange on it is the OEM one that came in the bypass from Merc. The long bare stainless in the McMaster Carr one spoke about on here, and the short one is the McMaster Carr one cut 1/4". I put the cut ones in and going to try them tomorrow. the new springs had WAY less tension then the OEM ones.
