Thinking out loud (Boat Purchase)

Ok those who know me know I have been wanting something bigger for awhile.I am in a position now to get what I wanted two years ago...but not what I want currently so I am stuck with what to do.Get a boat that is bigger and faster and will run in rough water better now.Keep that for a couple of years then get what I really want......or just wait and get what I really want in a couple of years.

I learned a long time ago that what I want now will change every couple years. I've had express cruisers, run-abouts, go-fasts, and this spring switched to a little center console. Knowing I'll change my mind again in a couple years I've kept my dually even though we have a 3/4 burb that could easily pull this little boat.
Don't act thinking you'll keep the next boat the rest of your life, seems most people only keep them 4-6 years (and I don"t keep them that long).

Thats kinda were I 'm at.What sucks is I was in the GMAC website, thats who holds my mortgage tonight.I wanted to see how many months were left. They have this little box you press for a cash out refinance for like the same mortgage payment. The box kept flashing 36 Pantera.
But house is almost paid off and I can't turn a stable/appreciating asset into a depreciating asset.Wish I could.

Go for it! In 2 years there will be something else you will want. Happens to all of us. Enjoy the big water.

Go for it. What you want now is not what you will want then. My old man used to always tell me " Once you can afford what you wanted, you know longer want that." May he rest in peace. It makes sense. People change, needs change, wants change. I'm not saying to go crazy and spend your entire future, but you gotta enjoy the present. Just my opinion, you'll do the right thing as you see it.
