those boats are awesome. I was glad to get to see them in person:)

alindquist 08-16-2010 08:29 AM

I saw it a couple times over the weekend and it's awesome... They definitely deserve that title. I never saw the 42 v in the water, only on the trailer, did they get it wet?

Planetwarmer 08-16-2010 11:47 AM

Statement was at LOTO last year. If you want to see one in person, come to the Lake of the Ozarks radar run in two weeks. Chances are, they will be there again.

Yes I here they will be there. I here they are bringing that Bad azz 50 Cat, and would guess the 42V would be there too.If you get a chance to get a ride with that air suspension cockpit
you will be blown away.

I'm anxious to see the cat on the water. Cool I'm sure. DoubleR Performance has the first 42 Vee up in Canada right now. They really are an awesome boat. Raymond flipped the tattle tale for me - 137.2 MPH. They ran it in the Muskoka Lakes poker run put on by the Performance Boat Club of Canada this past weekend and were a big hit up here.

NASCAT 08-17-2010 05:07 PM

Nick & Todd have introduced some very nice pieces to the world of performance boating!

boating37 08-18-2010 12:14 PM

Yes they have, and one must go for a ride in one of there boats to see what a fine running machine they really are.
To me the " best '' running V out there right now.

In order for me to really endorse them I'm going to need to back up my ride in the Vee w/ a ride in the Cat otherwise how could I be absolutely sure??:lolhit:

Doubtful. There's an ad in the new Powerboat that shows it running side by side with the cat, if it isn't photoshop it's probably the only time it has been in the water. :drink:

Now, I'm curious. I'll ask Todd when I see him at LOTO next week.

Yes they did get it wet in Miami and we were running next to the 50 cat in a photo shoot. You can see the video on the FPC website.I was on both boats that day and was one of the passengers that went 180mph in the cat. Great day it was.

Cool fast boats!!!!

edbrat 09-06-2010 09:58 PM

The 42V at doubleR performance looks awesome!! i drove by it on the way up to the cottage and had to stop and take a look on the way back.

chewiekw 09-07-2010 12:21 PM

Wholes in deck?

Whats the purpose of the two wholes in the top deck on the cat for? Is it to direct more air into the tunnel?

apache727 09-07-2010 02:18 PM

to cool the turbines. That's why they were running it without the hatch. They make the front end look even sicker! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wsc_qmnmKLw

chewiekw 09-07-2010 05:41 PM

Nice video, question why was it riding bow heavy, or sticking to the water? Seems like a lot of spray coming right from the bow...

Nice video but for a turbine boat it should be 200MPH! Is this why they did NOT run the boat in the shootout???????????????

That Cat ran 180mph 2nd time out, not to shabby if you ask me,with 3000hp T53 Tubines, as Miss Geico a race boat that has 4000hp T53 Turbines running 200mph, and a lighter and smaller boat then Statements 50 Cat. Keep eyes open for some bigger numbers thay are not done dialing it in.

chewiekw 09-08-2010 06:47 AM

is the way the boat rides in the water, simply because its not dialed in?

JoeD 09-08-2010 06:50 AM

Does anyone know how many Statement vee's and cats have been sold to date?

Because the boat doesn't even air out til over 120. this boat has A LOT left in it. "ran out of prop at 180." There is now way this boat won't break 200...

what limiters?

seans36baja 09-08-2010 01:53 PM

What happends when you are in rough seas with those big holes in the front? I would be afraid of stuffing the front end!

It's not like they haven't been trying. I ran into them at their booth at the Dubai boat show this spring.

The shootout

I was at the shootout and met Todd and Nick and they invited me to go for a ride on the 50' cat.
This was my first experience with a catamaran so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I sat in the back and listened to Todd and Nick talk to each other about how the boat was handling with the props that they had on the boat.
And I don’t think that they were working the way that had hoped for.
I do know that we cruised at 150 MPH and went as high as 160MPH with throttle left.
I was impressed with the ride the speed and the fit and finish.
I know the boat is capable of speeds at least 180 MPH.
I think we will see speeds even higher.
At 180 MPH that is impressive for a pleasure boat.

Todd and Nick it was a pleasure meeting you guys and thank you for the ride.

Darren Oben
