It's a PIA getting it but me and all the guys here on the Rivah are running 100 octane av. gas in our old Jets and V-drives. The high compression motors love it and I only run mine a handful of times every year so I never have to worry about putting stabalizer in the gas. The last I bought at the local airport a few weeks ago was $4.05 gal.

Some independent gas distributors have gas without ethanol in our area.
There was three spots around our town that had it last year and we fueled there. Ethanol is crap on many ways... Welfare for farmers essentially... On our back always.... We have a special gas at our marina called valvetec er something like that. It has ethanol in it, but they use chemicals to cancel it out. Basically a ethanol gas treated for marine use. |
Send the bill to your congressman, their stupidity caused this.

Wow, didn't realize that. Why do they only last 5 years? I thought they were just metal tanks like gas tanks. Am I missing something?
What you are most likely thinking of are the ones used in cars. Those are just mounted inside an aluminum box. Most in boats have a box made of fiberglass that is lined with roofing rubber and then the bladder is sat down inside of it. So if the roofing rubber is not in correctly or the box isn't a perfect fit, the bladder will chaffe. Even if they are perfectly installed, the rubber and seam glue gets hard over time and cracks. |
What boat manufactures used fiberglass?
