I FINALLY got my boat back!!!!!!!!
2600 bones later and 10 weeks and 1 day I FINALLY GOT MY BOAT BACK
Now that im super pressed for time I have to start wrenching like mad
As far as the bang bang noise, the marina tech thinks it is a bad miss in 1 or 2 cylinders and nothing more, He pulled the top cap of the drive off and no metal to be seen anywhere, nohting looked wrong, We fired both engines up and put drives in gear on trailer, Spun them up to about 2000 rpm's and no bang bang, Granted this was not under load.
He heard the miss in the one starboard engine that was making noise and said, Tune them both up using same exact parts, (right now 2 different wire sets, 2 different coils and one engine has champion plugs and other has AC delco plugs in it
Basically my mission that I have chosen to accept,
2 new wire sets, 2 new sets of NGK plugs, 2 new coils, 2 new intake manifolds, 2 new distributor caps 2 new rotors, 2 oil changes, 2 new oil filters, 2 new water separators, going to install 2 fuel filters with a sight glass in front of the carbs and we will see how that works out.
Man I need to get her wet before I cry
(Hey Diligaf, no comments )
After all this work is done, take her out for a test run to see if the drive has to be pulled apart and torn down to replace stuff (that is the only other thing I can think it would be)
Since the bang bang was intermitant, and only under load at 1800+ rpm's has to be a tuning issue with engine, My best guess.
Also prior to pulling carbs and intakes and distributors, going to clean out with carb cleaner and hopefully get the heads cleaned out a bit too since she was sitting for a while before I bought her.
Im just so glad she is home with daddy now.
cant wait to spank her either!!!!!!
WOOHOO

Only way to get it done is to do it,
Get some time free and concentrate my friend.
You will get there like me
at SOME point it will be done and it will be a great day!
