Comment:

I know what happened you won the Top Cat Manufacturers Class with a 165MPH run.

Great job and people who have never run the Shootout do not know the amount of preparation and effort that goes into this event. It is enormous to say the least even more so coming from Tucson!

We will see you next year glad you liked the course lay out this year it seems like it would be faster and safer.

I have no idea, runs 93 mph at 4000 rpms, 101 mph at 4600 rpms. Joe (Hustler Power Boats) and Eddie (Young Performance) run it 112 mph in 2005. They drive alot better than i do. The motors have almost 300 hours, Eddie builds a dependable motor. These motors would be awesome in the 39 Rocket.

Thats good #'s Eric.Dependability means alot so you can enjoy it.How ya like the looks of the 39? I'm still on the fence:drink:

I llike it alot, went to joe's and drove the first boat he built about two years ago. It went 114 mph with 700's, handles very well and easy to drive. Went for another ride at the miami boat show about a year later in very rough water and I couldn't believe how it done. It was awesome, we run 100 plus thru the cut that all the cruisers were in hittin 3 and 4 footers side to side and it never got out of shape or scared any of us (6 on board). That will be my next boat, plus me and joe have become very good friends over the last ten years. On every boat (four 388's) he has made it alot of fun, he is a good guy. This boat is a 2005 and I love it, no trouble out of anything. It just feels a little spooky over 100 mph.

Can someone explain the diff. between Non-Professional and Manufacturer?

How are Chip Romers 388 and Gary Smiths 40 in these diff categories? They're both open cockpit pleasure boats, Skater Catamarans, custom blower motors, both between 36-42 feet?????????? Am I taking crazy pills?

The same Chit that screws up racing!! No body loses and lets make a class for every boat.. Total BS.
If they want to make a true class separated by true boat length, dont count swim platforms and over size beaks on the v bottom. 36 skaters and 39 MTIs shouldn't be in the same class with 40Skaters and 44 MTIs.
It has grown and still is a great event but only One TOP GUN and thats David @ 208. Just Saying
