Shootout speeds

If I was guessing nothing other than it was the 1st pass of the 1st time at the shootout.. I obviously can't nor will attempt to speak for eddie or anybody else for that matter.. However I do know that he wasn't going to throttle the boat hard right out of the gate.. The boat accelerates very hard & I'm confident that its got more in it..
Now to the bigger problem. I spoke with Ron Duggan, Bob Teague, and about 10 other guys that know their stuff as to why my gps/chartplotter said 151 mph and the radar said 118 mph. The boat felt better than it ever has and I knew it was running a good #. It's pretty simple math. I was running about 5600 rpm, 1.35 gear and 41 props. That's a bunch more than 118 mph. The general consensus is that the boats radar signature is not very good. We have been trying to figure out what to do. I am open to any and all suggestions. I spoke with a few guys that have had to run metallic stickers, radar reflectors, etc to get a better reading. I heard a bunch of guys complaining about their gps reading being more than the radar, but not 33 mph. The most I heard was 10 from Nauti. Everyone else seemed to be about 3-5 mph.
If anyone has an idea, please spit it out. Thanks
Eddie
By the way, I reset the top speed on the gps about 5 minutes before my run while I was waiting in line to run.
