Default Shootout Updates: From Big Speed to Cool Props

On my way out the door and headed back to Captain Ron's to hang with Stan Ware, Joy Schou, Micheal Stancombe and a whole bunch of other great folks, but http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...rops-and-more/.

If I've messed up any facts in my rush to get out the door, I'm sure you'll let me know.

This event is not as good as I thought it was going to be

It's better.

I think Chip Romer went 186 in a 388, not Jim Darr's 40. (I think he went 157)

Yes, that was Chip Romer's 388 with Carson Brummet power that went 186 on his second run (188 on GPS in the boat). Their first run was only 178 on the radar but 191 on the GPS in the boat. Chip and co-pilot Joe Abellera didn't have a good aim on the gun in the first run. Don't be surprised to see this boat top 190 on the gun before tomorrow's over (and collect $10k from Pete!).

You are so correct, and thank you. It was Chip Romer who went 186, though Jim Darr's run of 157 was quite respectable.

I have changed it in my story. But again, thank you.

That's what I get for rushing.

Darr didn't run 157 either. He was around 120.

I didn't provide that number. My mistake was with names.

Official results should be up tomorrow sometime, maybe Tuesday.

This is why long lenses are dangerous.

Have to say, the cliffs near the radar boom made for great views of the action.
