On 1075's?? Or the 1200+'s I was talking about a few years ago when a guy you know told me the top speed it had run then.

I have been 160 in a 42 MTI with 1075's along time ago. Heck I've been 131 on 525's makes all the big power boats sad in a way.

Thanks for proving my point with that small post on how not knowing anything about somthing gives a person no right to talk or type to what on here is the world of boating. I was waiting for someone to post up on it.
Maybe Michael can see the reason for my posts.

Thanks again Mac. Sorry for the trouble Michael

none of you boys will be running very fast this year . the wp has already set a 70mph speed limit on the shootout poker runs, even if your not in them they will pull you over for speeding due to conditions, the fast poker runs are over at loto, thats the nice thing about the shootout, legal speeding .
er

Sounds right, have to remember starting speed and length of the course, not everybody is set up for it. By the way Chips boat is bad ass!

Not exactly sure what ur trying to say here.
Most boats that come to the shoot to run a good number change their gearing and rpm and boost if possible. A pleasure set-up is no where close to a good shoot-out setup. This is one reason a merc 1075 is a great pleasure boat motor but not so much for a shootout. You can't change the boost or RPM's and they are setup pretty conservative

Most every 42/44 MTI sold with 1075's runs 150ish with a conservative set up. Mid 150's is pretty easy with minor tweaking. But they won't run close to that in a mile. Which is one reason I don't run the shoot out.

Back on topic. Chris's boat ran incredible last yr and I've heard he 's picked 200 a side. Should be a great show.

So your are saying that if 5 boats meet up on a Friday morning and decide to run up the lake together and they cruise up the lake at say around 100 mph (this is not running hard in a 388 Skater or a 44 MTI), the water patrol is going to write you up for reckless boating or something like that? They really can’t write you up for speeding because there is no speed limit because you are not in a permitted event.
