there is a triple verado available right now . It's brand new and ready for an owner. The t-top it just incredible and the boat is bigger than you can imagine and drawfs a 40' er, and easily trailerable.

Nor-Tech has made a 50' CC out of their existing 50' V bottom hull. It is pretty bad azz as well!
|
the thunder is half the price and as bad ass as a nortech if not more.

I'm pretty sure I saw this boat in Steinhatchee, Florida on a recent scalloping trip - it was badazzz... we were cruising up the river when my wife spotted it - even she was impressed and she's not much for center consoles :evilb:

This is another one that is pretty badass:
http://www.smithboats.com/ We've painted a few at the AT Factory/INXS Motorsports. They are INCREDIBLE in person. |

Bob has been in business a lot longer than notech. There is no wood in his boats and the glass work is awesome, the nortechs have wood in their stringers etc. I have no affiliation with thunder except it is close by and he gives me great deals on parts, etc. You have to see the 50' in person to appreciate it and they have been built for 5 years or more. Maybe this could be your next boat, but only a cummins could pull it, right.
NT has alot of boats out there w/ alot of water time, some w/ huge pwer. others w/ mild! I believe they have proven themselves w/ a combo of years, technology, & as stated above, the real test, seriously proven on the water!!! |

One of the first couple of boats built was sold to hahn .To me, it's obvious what he did with it, but don't know any of the facts on what happened, and would never ask , but I do know that this is a pic of a 50' thunder, not a hann on his website. Thunder boats (active thunder when in ill.)have been around a long time and build quality boats. If I could afford it, I would buy one just to have a 55+ footer cc. Thats like 3 flats boats end to end

With the weight of the boat, gooseneck trailer and other stuff being 20,000+ a Dodge 4500-5500 could certainly pull it, but with looks in mind I would probly get an F650. And yes it would have a Cummins. :D

Just to clarify history, Active Thunder is not Thunder Powerboats built in Il. Thunder Powerboats was 1989-1993. Active Thunder Boats is a trademarked name that I have owned from 1994 until today. We have built approx. 200+ boats since inception. I bought the molds from the investor/ owner of them since the company was in arears of their commitment to repay. The hull molds and decks I bought have since been replaced and are gone. And there is your history lesson for today! |

Name brand boats are tough to sell in this economy, "one off's" don't mean much to a bank or a dealer looking to take it in on trade. Neat boat but Nortech would get my money first...
