24 Superboat vs. 24 Banana
Looks like ive narrows my seach to thwese 2 boats so far.
24 Superboat: 1980
468 BBC with a TRS and add on steering. Interior was just redone and motor has 30 hours on it. Mild mods intake carb gil exhaust.
24 Banana: 1979
Twin 200 LWP Nose Cones Speedy lowers 12 hours on rebuilds
New interior well resto'd
Question- Better ride? Cruise Speed? over all quality, comfort, useablity enjoyment and so on.
I run in the Mt. Hope Bay and Narraganssete. Also out to block now and again and Claudios if I can get to CT. I really just want it for after hours for a blast on the river. My Cafe will be the poker run boat and Weekender but wouldnt mind putting the other in a poker run for some one else to use if they want. SO has to be able to run a decent size PR.
Thanks
-Mike

I think they are pretty smiliar you cant really get to crazy in either boats layout...simple fun both well built. I think there are a few years the b boat had issues. Superboats like a tank.
i believe the lift strakes on the superboat arent as wide and sharp and some even have a notched transom.
Good luck
Chris

No one pointed out the obvious-the Superboat is a 7' beam and the Banana is an 8'. That being said, I would assume the Superboat would be a bit better in the rough, the Banana would have more room in the cockpit. The Super would take less power to get it going due to the narrower beam. Kind of a toss up?? I would guess both are older-both built with polyester resin. I'm sure Charlie (Banana) will pipe in-providing it is one that he built.

Mike........read about what Aronow, Magoon and Kiekhaefer decided on the 7 foot beam vs the 8 foot beam.
go to the website www.bananaboatco.com
next go to products and click on the 24....scroll down and click on history of 24 footer.
You decide......a lot of other boats, Superboat included, are well made...just think about the design.
