David Scott/Budweiser boat?????

Last year David had this boat at the LOTO shootout. I think I saw him run one race at the end of the season in Florida. I haven't heard or seen anything about him and this boat since then. Is he running this year? Has he been on any televised events? If so, is he doing any good?

I also heard he was building a Bacardi boat to run in Supercat. Any truth to this?

Buck,

Look at the Photos section in the left margin and then in the APBA Daytona section. Dave's (OSO aka Kilo Kat) Budweiser boat was re-painted and is now called the Bacardi Silver boat. He and JT ran it in the APBA race in Daytona the weekend before last.

Ya, what OSO said!...

Buck - They are all correct. The Budweiser Offshore boat is now Bacardi Silver (Anheuser-Busch's newest beer - a premium flavored malt beverage). My new boat being built may appear in a couple of races late this year as a Budweiser entry. A Bacardi Silver SuperCat boat is under consideration for the next project.

Dave-looks beautiful. Best of luck for a safe and successful season.

Thank you for the comment Shane. It is genuinely appreciated.

Kilocat,
Are you going to go for the kilo record again this year? The boat looks great!

KiloKat 05-07-2002 09:49 AM

Cowisl - Yes, we are planning on another kilo attempt. We made some changes over the winter and think the boat is ready. Now if we can only get good water/weather!

cowisl 05-07-2002 09:54 AM

Good Luck. Just on a side note, I applied for an internship with Skater. I am crossing my fingers.. They make a mean boat.

Dean Ferry 05-07-2002 09:57 AM

KiloCat,
Are you guys going to run the Kilo @ LOTO Shootout? IS that going to be your next kilo attempt?
BTW, great job in Daytona, and very nice rig! I was checking out you steering set-up @ the dry pits in the Speedway on Friday, very unique!
Good Luck this season,
Dean

KiloKat 05-07-2002 09:58 AM

Good Luck to You! Douglas Marine seems to be an excellent place to learn and work if you are into state-of-the-art custom boats.

KiloKat 05-07-2002 10:21 AM

Dean - No, our kilo attempt will not be during the Shoot-Out. The Shoot-Out is a race for one mile from a dead stop whereas a certified kilo run allows for a flying start and is measured as an "average" speed. Currently, the Shoot-Out record, which is the top radar speed attained in the mile run, is held by the Budweiser/Bacardi Silver boat at 165 mph. However, we are planning on running the Shoot-Out again this year and are hopeful that we can break 165.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you in Daytona. If you are in Marathon, please stop by and say HI.

Dean Ferry 05-07-2002 10:40 AM

Kilocat,
Thanks for the invite, don't know about making it to Marathon, but we are considering the Savanah Ga. race. A good friend of mine here Lockheed is friends with the Carmody crew, (His wife grew up with Jack and Chris) and we are all thinking about heading up there for the race. If so, we'll definitely stop by and say hello.
Take care,
Dean

Kilokat,

The boat looked awesome. I was in the green boat leading the pack and seeing your boat fly by was a treat on the water. Boat sounded awesome as well, good luck with the new records.

Dave, a 46 for SBI and a supercat, that will be awsome!! I can't wait to see you in the Supercat races, that seems like the class that would have the best competition!! I bet you and JT will Whoup some ass!!
Then what are you going to do with the other boat? Just use it for Kilo's?

KiloKat 05-08-2002 10:26 AM

FunHome - The Bacardi Silver boat will continue to be raced in the APBA PX class and used for sponsor appearances, etc.

buck183 05-08-2002 06:47 PM

Dave,

I'm glad that your still running the boat. Looks good too. I had seen the boat, but didn't know it was the same one.

Buddy of mine that lives on the lake (I think you know him Darren Dahl) had told me that you were going to be running two boats. That's why I had been looking for the Bud boat too. Although I still liked the Bud boat, good, clean looking ride.

I always look forward to seeing you run at the shootout.

Good luck.

Kilo-Kat,
Me and a buddy were talking this evening and he asked about your old boat, the one with a open cockpit, do you still have it? Is it still for sale?

Yes, I still have my 36' Skater pleasureboat. It stays in Nauti-Marine's display room most of the time but I plan on taking it to The Lake for Memorial Day. It is available for sale with or without power. For further details you can e-mail me at [email protected] or feel free to visit with me in Marathon.
