Default Don Aronow Race....1 week to go

One week from today, the first boats will be pulling into the dry pits of Manhasset Bay Marina......will you be one of them??

A once in a lifetime opportunity to race just like the legends of the sport did....you even get to go over the same course and deal with the same conditions they had back then.

Smallest winner of the race was a 17 foot boat.

Shown below is Dick Genth winning with a single engine 28 foot Thunderbird.

You can do this if you use common sense and good seamanship. You finally can compete without having to be a billionaire and have a chance for the win. Many, many races were won by people who used their heads, rather than go all out and blow up in the first half of the race.

Will we have any representatives from the outboard ranks?

Here are some outboard boats from the past.

Simple boats that stayed together and lasted until the end of the race produced winners for the mighty Carl Kiekhaefer.
