I like the Spectres. That 32 mike Flannigan was running at LOTO is Bad Ass. It's listed now in OSO classifieds, check it out.

not sure about the motions but the spectre's dont ride that well
they dont ride that well in what way?
Both are equally great boats that will handle rough water well. Both are race proven hulls that even with mild power will run over 100. I had a 35 Motion that was 155 mph and was a terrific boat. Contact Larry goldman in miami florida Extreme marine. He sells many of those boats used
Shogren Marine has a 36 they are selling for a great price.
Spectre
Dollar for dollar a 36 Spectre is the best value on the market today. Jay builds a race proven hull and will actually answer his phone. I have had a 36 for 5 years and just purchased a 36 Nortech. While it is not a Nortech it is 1/4the price!
All the spectre's I have been in were a very bumpy riding boat.I'm not saying they are a bad boat just alittle bumpy..
I have a 36 Spectre and it rides great. It does have a little hop from 60 mph to 90mph, but it has been a zero maintance boat with Merc 500 EFI's. It will run over 100mph easily and everyday. It idles for hours, it loads like a dream, hull and interior is tight, and the price won't leave you living in it. I think they are hard to beat. If it had a cabin I would consider living in it!

ive been getting all good feed back from sprectre owners nothing from motion owners there must be a reason for that
spectre
What speed were going Over 90 MPH they ride like they are on rails
I see your in RI. I was in the same predicament as you. Looked at boats all over the country and test drove them. We ended up with a 35 Motion and love it!I felt it ran better and the boat does not hop! It is for sale as well for a great price with a fresh re-rig, custom paint, and a one off FineLine interior!

which boat are you selling?
Contact FastFun2 on the board if you are interested in the Zipps raceboat. That BeavBoats dude used to be notorious for selling boats when the owner had never heard of him.

I have a 35 Motion and love it. I had a 30 Spectre that I also really enjoyed. I would say that the Spectre 36 and Motion 35 are very similar. I felt the Spectre 36 a little bumpier in the rough. It may boil down to looks, like it did with me. They both have great racing history. I really believe that you can’t go wrong either way. Mine has 575 and runs a good 120-121 on gps (light fuel two people and Herrings of coarse). It will run full of gas, video camera, gear, cooler, bravo1 props and 4 people (poker run style) 110 all day long. Mine is very dependable and like they said before you wont have to move into it to afford it.
Btw there are some nice deals out there. Foutain40icbm has a nice one that was recently redone. There's also a #6 boat with nice paint the could be had right and Larry Goldman has commotion that used to be Manny the owner of Motion Hulk boat that is really nice, with Guardado paint, grafixefx paint design incredible stereo etc. that can be had right. |
thanks for the imput met with larry couple weeks ago and looked at com motion and a few others i think it will be a flipp of the coin motion or spectre
We had big power in both and actually I preferred the Motion over the Spectre.
They both have the 60-70 mph hop, not as bad in the Motion though. Behind seat storage is a nice feature on the Spectre but gives up some engine compartment room |
