LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (7MM) -- A Lee's Summit woman was killed Saturday night in a docking accident at Shady Gators.

According to the Water Patrol, 26-year-old Crystal Gudde was standing on the engine hatch of a 29-foot Formula ready to throw out a boat fender at 10:43 p.m., Sept. 4, as the operator, George Constable, 52, of Lee's Summit, Mo., began to position the vessel to back into one of the slips at Shady Gators. At some point in the turn, the vessel went from idle reverse to full-throttle reverse hitting multiple docked boats.

Gudde suffered fatal injuries in the collision. She was taken to Alee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

Constable suffered minor injuries, according to the Water Patrol.

Damage to the Fountain has been classified as moderate.

Sad to hear this. Full-throttle reverse can't ever be a good thing.

I actually watched this happen. It look like a throttle stuck. He hit 4 boats hard and the girl was nailed by the beak of a fountain. We watched them pull her from the boat and we could tell it wasn't good.

Very sad!!!! Thoughts and prayers go out to the families!!!!

It sounds like a line or fender line got wrapped around the throttles. Very sad.

Possible that he went to move shifters into forward and moved the throttles forward instead.
