Update. You want big water, you will get it. An un invited friend Igor will play some role in the event.

The most recent entry, is a large deep vee with 4 diesel engines..... that can cruise comfortably in the triple digits.....will this be the new record holder for deep vees??

I would think it should be a very strong contender at least

The biggest factor here is the 271 mile course. That really evens the playing field.

All the really hot boats for short runs may not make it the whole way around...... and that is where a surprise like an outboard powered boat may just shine.

By all accounts, the diesel boat is top of the line modern technology and should do very well as the boat to watch for the new deep vee record.

If it is really rough, just how fast can the cats run as compared to this boat with that length?

It should be a great race with a lot of factors the racers will have to work out to be successful.
