Anyone do grafix work with clear gel and glitter flakes?

I am toying with the idea of changing my grafix. I bought some clear gel and red glitter flakes. I did some test spraying and really like all the sparkles that come out of the glitter when looked at from diff. angles. Has anyone done this and are there any downfalls?

Thanks

YEARS AGO I USE TO DO A LOT OF CUSTOM PAINTING METAL FLAKE , CANDIES, PEARLS ( AM I SHOWING MY AGE ARE WHAT ) ANYWAY, AFTER SPRAYING YOUR BASE COLOR THEN SPRAY YOUR METALFLAKE A OLD BINKS NUMBER 7 WITH A BIG TIP WORKS GOOD KEEP A COUPLE OF LUG NUTS ARE MARBLE IN THE CUP AND SHAKE THE SPPRAY GUN OFTEN TO AGITATE THE FLAKE AND KEEP SUSPENDED IN THE CLEAR. SPRAY IN CRISS CROSS PATTERNS SO THAT YOU DONT END UP WITH STRIPES, AFTER YOUR LAST COAT LET IT TACK UP REAL GOOD THEN TAKE A INK ROLLER AND FLATTEN OUT THE FLAKES THAT ARE STANDING UP OTHER WISE YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT A TON OF CLEAR ON JUST TO COVER THE FLAKE. AFTER YOU HAVE BURIED THE FLAKE PUT ONE GOOD COAT ON SO YOU CAN SAND FLAT AND BUFF, OTHER WISE IF YOU DONT SAND FLAT YOU WILL LOSE THE SPARKLE FROM THE FLAKE CAUSE ITS GOING TO LOOK LIKE COTTAGE CHEESE ON THE SURFACE. GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR THE MEMORY. IT WAS ONE OF THOSE THINGS YOU FORGET UNTIL SOME ONE ASKS.

The flakes seem to sink in pretty well on their own but I will test with the roller. Aside from the bass boat comments, which I will take as a warning not do too much, I think a well thought out stripe will look cool.

O.K. since the trick painters are here. How do they get the paint to change colors when looked at from different angles? I'm not talking about darker or lighter, I mean like blue to yellow to green. I saw an 18 wheeler painted like that the other day and it was flat out cool. Bet it cost him a fortune though.
