Most of the stuff used to make windscreens is polycarbonate or probably optical grade Lexan.

Lexan is the same stuff that is used in Nascar windshields and fighter jet canopies. I used to work for the company that made lexan sheets. The only way we could break it wiht out a saw was pour electrical contact cleaner CRC on it and hit it with a hammer. 2 .500 laminted together can stop a .357 at point blank.

Not sure what the higher ends use like Skater, but i know some of the mid level manufacturers use Lexan.

I've had one get sucked in the tunnel before. It was kinda funny. (The seagull did live)

I use to do bird strike testing on turbine engines we would should those suckers into a running engine at 275 mph and that bird would actyally bounce off the front fan three times before in got sucked in cool test

We hit one in Frosts MTI at about 140 last year and while the bird did not live, the windshield came away unscathed.

The top of my head is good at 100 for seaguls........boater 1 bird 0 and what a mess,guts and bird blood all over my vest and burned to the headers!!!!good thing I ducked or I would have got it in the face.
