Default Hotel in St.Petersburg Fl.

Hi, We have a wedding to attend in St. Peterburg in January and was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions on a "nice" place to stay. My wife has been looking on the internet and says most of the places look pretty old and tired. Anyone know the area and have any ideas? Thanks! Steve

The Vinoy is the nicest hotel in St Pete and was recently remodeled. It has a golf club nearby in Snell Isle and is in somewhat of a small downtown district. If you are looking for more beach in your vacation then the Don Cesar is pretty cool but it is old.

Honestly my sister in law lives in St Pete and I have stayed at both hotels when visiting. She got married at the Don Cesar and it was cool but seemed to be far away from her house. She lived in Snell Isle at the time which is where the Vinoy's Golf Club was so the Vinoy seemed way more convienent. The Vinoy also has a recently remodeled marina thanks to one of the recent (05-06) hurricanes.

Both places will be expensive in January for sure........

You can try the TradeWinds on St. Pete Beach, older but not a bad facility. If you want someplace more contemporary drive 20 minutes up to Clearwater Beach and stay at the Hyatt or Sand Pearl.

Do you want to stay beach or bayside? Bayside then I vote Vinoy all the way. Beach side I recommended Alden Resort, nice hotel right on beach.
Don is col to visit but needs updated IMO.

The other guys nailed it already. Bayside, Vinoy. Beachside, Don Cesar.

As an alternative, check out the Grayl's hotel in downtown St. Pete. It's gorgeous, historic, and newly redone. It's also a perfect location.

I live in clearwater and run my 27 baja 509 m3 sc right up to the Sand Pearl resort. It is brand new and right on the beach. It is up the beach from st pete but much nicer than the old style resorts......You can get to it my boat which maks it even cooler.
