newbie questions

i am very new when it comes to power boats and i have questions that i just haven't seen in the forums. unfortunately i have never ridden in a large power boat. i have driven an 18ft leisure boat, 20ft off shore fishing boat, and my trusty 16ft lund fishing boat with tiller steer.

please help/forgive a noob out if you like to help.

what rides better a cat or v bottom for 1-3 ft waves? my wife doesn't have the best stomach for movement so i want the best ride possible. my boat will never see ocean but it will see st lawrence river, lake ontario, hudson, and oneida lake for some poker runs

what is a good size boat for poker runs? i know you can do them in any size but what boat size and power runs all day comfortably with a pack? dont care where i run, just dont want to get left behind.

how many hours is too many on these big v8's in your opinion?

what make the rooster tail? is it horse power? duel prop? if i am paying for a boat i may have for the rest of my life it has to rooster tail :evilb:

i also am always willing to put in $$ for a 30ft or bigger poker run ride a long. i will wear any piece of safety equipment i am asked to.
i will bring my own helmet if required. i will also be happy to give references so you can see i am not a dirt bag. i really want to do a ride a long on the st lawrence kingston run.

please ask any questions if needed. thanks in advance, dave

------i think i want a nordic thor with an open bow. my best guess is 27 foot boat and single motor is good to start and keep the smile on for years to come.
