My wife and I like wine....and collect some and drink some. :drink: Some high-end wines are hard to come by due to limited availability. My wife has some amazing client connections and so I get to meet some interesting people and do some pretty amazing events. One guy I met last year at the RR Car Of The Year event was a winemaker by the name of Jayson Woodbridge with Hundred Acre. We like his wine too and is a super guy.

Anyway......many vineyards send out letters about the latest release of their wines normally telling you all this boring stuff about the making of it, the weather, the grapes, the color, reviews and blah blah blah. I received such a letter from Hundred Acre in September and it was 5 pages long and I didn't read it at the time. I figured it was the typical boring stuff and I would read it some time while sitting on the can.

Cleaning my desk last weekend I happened to pick it up and started to read it. The first paragraph caught me and I realized that this letter was different. What a crack up! I really enjoyed reading it and wanted to share it, so I hope you enjoy it too. :drink::drink:

Great letter Nort, seems like a guy who likes what he is doing.
I checked the LCBO website, looks like Hundred Acre would have to be a special order up here.....

After OPUS 1 , the wine out there isnt worth serving on an economy airflight. Elitist prick.:lolhit::lolhit:

Magicfloat 10-14-2010 04:52 PM

Finally a thread I can relate to LOL.I drink a lot of wine, mostly Sutter Home,$9.99 a bottle.and that's for the large bottle:drink: A few years ago a friend gave me a bottle of Chateau Capbern Saint-Estephe 1926 for my birthday, must have been expensive. Karen and I and she opened it and drank it ,then decided to finish the evening with Sutter Home. It's all about perspective:drink:

I watched one of those episodes of CRIBS once.

The snotty airhead was showing off her wine rack stocked with a collection of fine grape. Went on and on.

Two minutes later she was showing what was in her refridgerator as they do in the show and right there at the front of the shelf with the spigot showing was a box of Come Alive for a Dollar Five chit wine.

Probably drinks it out of a plastic Ronald McDonald cup.

Hate wine eletists.

By the way, Nort, if you know yoga, it sounds like he might hire you to be his boat mechanic.

He owns a boat that can cruise the BC coastline, so he boats offshore, so he fits in.

Better question... Why are you being such a d!ck to everyone on this thread? Just my .02

glassdave 10-15-2010 05:39 PM

got a good wine story for ya :D (in the summer i am a wine drinker as well)

Last year while racing out east our main sponsor wanted us (the team) to meet him in New York city to go to an upscale bistro he wanted to check out, BLT Primes. While having dinner he askes if any of us would like to split a bottle of wine, couple of us said sure so he orders up a bottle. They bring it out and the head waiter seemed to make a big deal out of it, complimented Mark on the selection but said he was sorry to see it go. They pour some glasses (picture me as Ellwood in the resteraunt scene in Blues Brothers :D) I had a few glasses and made a mental note of the bottle. 2004 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon . . . . . . . . Screaming Eagle? WTF? (Google it, thats what i did the next day lol) Later on i was glad to have had the experiance but in retrospect wish i hadnt chased it with that beer :drink:
