Hey Bud:

What type of belts are you running on those 8.3litre Whipples?

KAP

animalhouse 10-14-2010 07:32 PM

We run Gates Belts on there.

Whipple Charged 10-14-2010 08:04 PM

It sure was fun, although it would be nice if I actually got to watch where we were going, kinda miss the thrill of going that fast when I'm glued to the laptop!

animalhouse 10-14-2010 08:11 PM

FREEDOM US1 10-14-2010 10:22 PM

Sounds GREAT!! Good luck and kick some butt!!!

PARADOX 10-14-2010 10:33 PM

Where was it done? I saw a Nuck plant in the background.

animalhouse 10-14-2010 11:00 PM

Mount Hope bay in Rhode Island. The nuke plant is not a nuke plant, but they are cooling towers under construction for a coal fired power plant.

cowisl 10-15-2010 05:33 AM

Will it be in key west?

Big Time 10-15-2010 09:20 AM

That thing looks fast even when it's sitting on the trailer!

KNOT-RIGHT 10-15-2010 09:25 AM

Man you guys build some nice boats!

I was going to say you guys went the short way across mt hope bay east to west:eek:.Fred do you guys run to bridge to bridge south to north it seems longer and you got the channels to stay in for deep water. but at high tide and those speeds your using 2 feet of water so your fine. haha. looks good for 180!!!

SHAWN DAVIS 10-15-2010 09:32 AM

Looks good and sounds better
How about some numbers??????

1MOSES1 10-15-2010 10:35 AM

In the video, that was 150mph at about 70% throttle, on the limiter. Geared/propped for key west and semi rough water. We were extremely tempted to change the gear ratio and rip a 170mph+ run because it would've easily, but we decided to wait until after KW.

Motors are Outerlimit built 509ci (for Super Vee) setup at 1300ish, extremely conservative.

Yup, and since we got a few days of testing and racing around the bouys, were actually prepared this year! No more last minute stuff.

Ya when we put the boat on the trailer, someone that lives right there came up and said, holy crap, you guys are lucky that its high tide! When we went by, you could see the rocks on the bottom!

Should try 1500hp's and beat Reggies speed record

ktron 10-15-2010 01:23 PM

That is very impressive to say the least! WOW!!

Maybe after KW, this boat is more than capable of it. As of now, winning KW is the only goal.

Big Time 10-15-2010 02:02 PM

Who's driving/throttling the boat for KW?

Very very impressive. The guys at Outerlimits know what they are doing, and you know how to make them go even faster.
Great job!
