OSO Smartphone App
 

does anybody else think that this site needs a mobile app for smartphones?? i think it would be totally cool if you could check the latest posts from your iphone, blackberry, or droid smartphone. doesnt have to have all the features of the full site, just some posting and update capabilities

that would be awesome. I would love one available for the iphone. it is too much of a pain to view threads in safari on the iphone.

I recently just got a droid. What's the difference in having an app and just checking in using the browser? I use the browser now and its just like on my home computer. How does an app improve on this. Just curious really as I just got one of these things (sent this post from it) . :D

I have the DroidX and love it. Anyway, I think the difference is with the app, it is one touch, rather than going through the steps of the browser. Bottom line is it would be faster.

I brought this up last year also. I also have a home screen icon that will go straight to OSO but then I have to size and resize to see pictures and post. Moil sites are built specifically to enhance the viewers experience with the site. I am all for this!

I love my phone so much because I am rarely at home or somewhere where I can check my emails, OSO, etc. My job does not allow me to sit at home and play on the internet all day. Without my phone and ipad I would not be able to stay up to date on new things. Right now I am on my phone sitting in a waiting room waiting to go into a meeting. It's better to be on here reading than just sitting staring at the wall aimlessly.

Ok.... cool? Whoever, or whenever, it was brought up......it didn't sound like IB at that time was too excited about pursuing it. This was RIGHT after they bought the site though, and it was still just Heather & I helping out.

Maybe they have more time now to devote to new ideas like these? I think it would be nice to have an app, where you could open up to your favorite forum, or thread, without having to go through the entire process through Safari, or similar, on your phone.

i can browse the site from my iphone but its a painn to zoom and click links and wait for it to load, an app would be cool for checking pms and seeing if anybody has responded to your posts without having to navigate the whole site on a phone to find out.

No, only on the full size bag phone, I think that one is the more recent compact model, they had to remove some of the features to get the size down. Sorry...
