Go diving down in the Keys occasionally, remember the first time I was diving on the statue of Christ at Pennekamp and there was a nurse shark swimming around the statue, almost dropped a load in my pants! Been diving with Nurse sharks many times since then, have touched them, never had a problem, dont like Bull sharks, dove with one and they are scary!

I have a friend in Bradenton who flies a small plane, told me if you ever saw them from the air, you would never go back in the water again.

Back in the early 80s when South Miami beach was still pretty much a ghetto slum an Argentinian client of my father used to go out once a week and swim from the beach about 2 miles out and back fro exercise. One day he was out there and saw a helicpoter swoop down with people waving at him,, he thought they were bieng friendly and just waved back and lept swimming. Once he got back to the beach he went back to his hotel , couple hours later to his suprise the same guys from the copter came to the hotel looking for the "crazy guy" that has swam offshore.
They were part of a film crew and show him pics they had taken that showed he was surrounded by sharks almost the entire time he had swam out..
Did not faze him, he still went out and did it again for many years after that.

That's the truth. We have a Naval Air Station here in Jacksonville, and we have several guys working for us who used to be stationed there. They'd be flying over the beaches all the time, and showed me countless pics of lots of people in the water - breakers - and even more sharks........in that order. Pretty wild.

This one swam up to our boat while we had lunch at a sandbar in the Dry Tortugas
