What are some good movies with boating as one of the main topics??
 

I am trying to think of the name of a movie I saw a while back, has to be at least 8-10 years, but it had a lot of high performance boats, and involved the Customs Service or Coast Gaurd trying to make drug running busts.

How about other movies?? I wanted to see some
I know of Striking Distance and heard that "All about the Benjamins" had a lot of boats in it?
Any others?

I am not sure if this is the movie you are thinking of or not, but one of my favorites none the less. "Thunder Boat Row". It was shown on national tv, but never maid it to an actual movie:( I am very interested to see who else posts on this:)

There is a movie about to be released entitled "Madison".
It centers around the life of the Miss Madison Unlimited Hydroplane.

I'm humming the tune right now...... God I love John Williams.

"Perfect Storm" Oops, not a very happy ending with respect to boating.
"Jaws" Boat sank, Quint eaten by sharks. Not a happy ending to that one either.
"White Squall" Blowboat movie, boat sank again.
"Titanic" Girl cheats on fiance, boat sank.
Wait, I know, "Deliverace" One canoe sank, one guy drowns, Ned Beaty squeals like a pig.
Anybody notice a trend here?
Maybe we should make this hard and try to think of movies where the boats dont sink.

My name is Bond.....James Bond. Its an OB vs. Jet/Sterndrive War that features "THE" boat of the 70's....Glastron/Carlson. Live and Let Die is one of my favorites. Billy Bob never got to boat and once again they didn't get James....Mike.

McHales Navy ... thay have the scenes where the villan is trying to blowup Tom Arnold. The villans boat was VERY COOL :cool:

FaceOff had a boat chase scene at the end.

Gilligans Island-but that boat sank.

There was a episode of Home Improvement with a nice woodie in it.

How about Captain Ron? Sure it was a sailboat, but I thought it was a funny movie.

Plus, the boat didn't sink. In fact, the family gave up their "old" lifestyle for one of boating! :cool:

Clint Eastwood has a new one comming out that features Donzi`s called "BLOODMARK"

Tequila Sunrise. Petty good movie, has a Chris Craft Scorpion in it.
Clambake, with Elvis was a good flik. You know, before he was fat, and dead.

Did anyone mention "Gator.".... ?? was some decent river and swamp scenes in it... not to mention that big dudes head sticking out of the sun roof...

Thunder In Paradice

Was that the tv show with Hulk Hogan. I used to watch that show all the time. Maybe I should not be admitting that...:p

What REALY impresed me was how big the cabin was. That is I think it was. I only saw it once when I was flipping through the channels.

Flipper was a great TV show! I started with a little flat bottom with an OB like the kid and always wanted a Twin setup like the Ranger had. I never did get a Dolphin to swim with in PA.....That show made me the boater I am today.....Mike.

There was a Jackie Chan movie older one before he became famous. Can't remember the name but he gets in a boat and rides off in it had 3 or maybe even four outboards on it.

I've been remise in my duties, and am ashamed I forgot this one
the little rascal episode where waldo and alfalfa have a boat race to win over Darla's heart and Waldo's boat goes over the falls and Alfalfa saves Darla. a classic!

That little flat bottom on Flipper was a 13 ft Boston Whaler and the Ranger's, which was his Dad, was a twin engine Thunderbird.

Saw the boat from "Thunder in Paradise" once at a boat show in Orlando. Looked good from a distance. Up close it was a real mess. Stress cracks everywhere and it looked like they used a roller and brush to paint it. Was not impressed.

I shouldn't admit this, but the sail boat in "Captain Ron"?
I'd love to own it. I think it's one beautiful boat.

A while back I read about someone making a movie about Aronow. Maybe a year or two ago? Whoever it was had a site up, and was looking for calssic Donzis, Cigarettes, Magnums, etc. in the NY/NJ area.
Anyone know what ever happened to that?

Dont forget about the new Charlie's Angels. It has a nice Donzi in one scene.

yeah, the web site had just a poster of the movie about Don A. but that was it alec baldwin was supposed to play him. I posted everywhere that my 68 16 classic was available, then got an email for some guy gave him the specs and ain't heard diddley since.
I guess an old 16 for a new 22 wasn't a hollywood deal
