Ok, this is not to start a thing about, wether or not the Fountains are the correct length. As in a beak-and-swimplatform descussion. I like Fountains..
But if you are looking for a maximum of 30', have you looked at a 32 fever? I haven't measured any and not been around alot of them, but just a thought.

My Opinion, no on both counts! Go find a later model with steps like the others recommended if you need 85+ mph in a real 29-35 foot hull with twin big blocks of necessary horsepower.

If it helps I run 69 fresh, 71 salt gps in an 1988 27/29 Fever with 1.5 bravos and stock 454/330's whether I run 25 mirage or 27 mirage plus is only about 300 rpm diff but same top speed. 27s run about 42-4300 rpm
Don't mid 90's fountains run a 1.32 ratio? Could that explain the 25p at 85mph?
