we should start a "faith in humanity" experiences thread...
non-current story but goes to show you how a good deed done or doing the right thing can change someone's life for the better.
I was much younger and on very hard times...
anyway back then there were lots of "nieghborhood stores" you know the little groceries in a house with apts. in the back.
I went there to use the payphone and buy staples with change and singles...
a nasty winter here- real harsh, I was cold, hungry, alone, no car, unemployed.
Mrs Guardino would give me canned food, bread and milk when Mr Guardino wasn't around.
She helped me survive.
She also made arrangements for me to run into the young lady from down the block the other way who was in similar straights, that I previously always missed at the store.
I reflect on those days being thankful, especially this time of year, and think of Mrs. Guardino often.
