thanks bob thats where it kicked up i was just saying kids fall asleep in boats its cool i did it in my dad 18 ft thompson just a good memory and my dad is what got me into fast boating and my skater is loving memory to him and with out him it would not have been possible i owe a awfulle lot to him and thats what the 711 is its his birthday and my lucky numbers thanks again dad his ashes ride up front in the boat cause thats what he loved and he brings good luck but he always said when people asked him harry how did you get so lucky he said the harder i work the lucker i get good words to live by

out of curiosity..how much fuel does that thing use?? in say a day trip??

Jim, Nice story about your Dad. My sister and brothers had our first taste of boating on my Father's 16ft Lyman. Water skiing before we started school. I had the rare opportunity to meet your Dad. Reading your story made it even more special. I can relate.

I have the exact same hull as Jim, (picture in post#8) different deck and power. Mine is a raised pleasure deck, T/300SX, and yesterday when I particaped in the FMO turkey weekend run, I ran a total of 152 miles, burned 70.0 gallons of 93 octane, thats an average of 2.17mpg. We ran together, except in the Gulf leg, and his boat runs real nice. We have also rode with each other in different runs, the Skater hull, has no equal. |
