I use 20-W50 Castrol per Eddie Young's recommendation. But I use his engines.

I use Dello 400 40W in my 1271 Detroits in the big boat. Different animal there too.

Those big detroit's would be a lot happier with Delo 100 40W..

If he was having trouble beating up lifters he probably should have looked a little deeper instead of blaming an oil that's been proven for years in the most demanding endurance races in the world.. I think you'd be fine with the M1 15-50 or 20-50.
That and or what he makes the most money on

You can't really find it many places. She takes 10 gallons a side. I could special order it but was told not to bother.

Both my diesel Mech and one of the larger diesel distributers say 400 40W so that is what I use. They purr.

I will be. The oil change process is something to see. It is an all day event for that plus 2 15kw gens. 22 gallons of oil plus 6 oil filters. Got 6 fuel filters to change too. Gotta love stand up engine rooms.

Default Kendall 50wt or AMSOIL 15w50 Dominator

We recommend Kendall 50wt for ALL of our Engines or AMSOIL 15w50 DOMINATOR (Not just because they are a sponsor, but because it works)! I do not recommend any other synthetic other than the Dominator, to slippery for a hydraulic roller.

In reality you can you any oil that you want, just dont' try to pull the warranty card if it doesnt work, haha. Everyone has their own preference to a quality oil and that is perfectly fine! Above is our recommendation!

Been running Mobil 1 in hydraulic roller marine engines for 12 years with zero lifter issues.
