I went to the hardware store and bought a carabiner. I slip the carabiner over the edge of my waist band. The spring keeps the carabiner tight against the shorts and if I were knocked about, I have no doubt the kill switch would be tripped. In fact, I've had the switch kill the motors in very rough water when I got a little too high off the cockpit floor.

I used to wrap it around my leg and clip it to the cord in my Sweet 16. Only shut down once by accident. Of course the cut-off was in the foot well, so it was pretty convenient.
