The surfers are in danger also, especially if they were in the same area as the boat. All it takes it one hit, and then there's a death or injury.

I can't imagine how it survived the out of shape landing in the one pic.

I wonder how long it took him to pour what was left of that boat back on the trailer when he was done. Anybody want to buy a "lightly used" Baja? Folks like this guy give high performance boating a bad name.

BTW, since it's a single, it's gotta be the 272.

I wonder if its photoshopped... Couple of them look fake/impossible to handle without a pretty serious wreck... Also, no pics with the boats and the surfers... Seems like it'd be easy to take some surf competition pics and throw an "airborn" boat in there here and there...

it's legit.
Those pics were taken last Sept about 5 miles from my house.
Surfing after a 60mph wind storm and a nutbar in a Baja.
I have seen the boat around but don't know the operator.
He's got balls though, but crazy without a helmet or jacket.
He is wearing floater suit though.

It's a 2000 272

Interesting. I too thought about that shot of the boat jumping off the wave (in following sea's). Ouch. I like the shot of the surfers that are looking over their shoulder. "hey moondoggie, is that a Baja 272 single engine bravo drive boat coming in our direction?"

Looks like fun. Not saying it is the smartest thing to do, but I bet he had some fun.
One thing to realize is with big waves you don't have to haul a$$ to get air like that.
