Default New 28 Skater

I just purchase a new 28 skater 2002 and they just started rigging it today. Can wait until it is done I had a 1993 30 cat with twin 1994 2.5 carb motors hope to see a big diffence. I just kept hearing great things about skaters and had to go for it. They are rigging it with new mercury 2.5 motors. hope to see speeds of around 110MPH. If anybody has any suggestion please feel free to let me know it would be greatly appeciated. Just looking for infomation on rigging and how the boat handles in the rough or any other tips i could get thanks

I will keep you posted on how it comes out. I have just the bare hull with the decking. I have performance marine rigging the entire boat for me. They have done some great stuff. I will put some picture up of the bare boat and then after they finish rigging it tell me what you think thanks. I cannot wait until it is finished. I am going with the 2.5 i am very curious to see that boat with 300x Motors did skater tell you to put them on or you are telling them? Also nope i am no the guy that got into the accident going to check out the boat his he ok? talk to you soon

You can get a 28 to run 115-120 with 280's the 300's won't go that fast. Don't put Hyd Jackplates on them because you'll get them out of sinc and loose h2o pressuure and cook a motor. BoB's plates are OK for a small boat but I woudn't put them on an offshore boat. Just My 2c.
