It was a GREAT boat! I had a ton of fun in that thing, and Reggie and I raced the Hell out of it and it always gave us everything it had!
I was thinking about this the other day how someone can buy a "theme boat" and now they become that person, what I mean to say is, not only are you buying the boat, you are also buying the recognition of being "Speed Racer"
Its funny how people know the boat but not really the owner, the boat becomes the owners identity. For that recognition the price is cheap!
Will I always be "The Original Speed?"

The original speed racer is at MTI getting a new 6 seat interior and #6 drives.
It is still owned by Bob Christie in NJ. After talking with Randy at MTI over the summer about trading it in vs. making it what he wanted, they decided to go this route. Bob loves the Speed Racer theme and plans on keeping it that way! After multiple transmissions, crash boxes, and the pain in the azz maneuvering of a rudder pleasure boat, the best route was to make it a #6 boat. Originally it was a 4 seat cockpit, when Bob bought it they squeezed in a 5th seat in the back but it was very tight. Now it will be like a brand new boat at a fraction of the price.
