Bad Day On The Sled
 

I no we are here to talk about boats but in my spare time in the winter I like to get out on my sled and just wanted to show what happens blow a cooler hose & dont no :poopoo: this is what it looked like when I took it apart

That doesn't look too bad.....might have to run it on one cylinder until all that other stuff clears itself out:party-smiley-004:

it doesnt look like anything is left man that sucks almost as bad a junking a boat engine at the beginning of the season

just a lil honing and you are good to go, or ive got a 454 to drop in that sled......

btw what kind of sled is it

Oh that is a good one, a good start to the wall of pain as I call it. I have a spot in the garage where I keep that sort of stuff, broken rods, pistons, custom ventilated oil pan, cams, cranks, clutches, axles, rocker arms....you get the idea...called the wall of pain/shame:eek:

My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it. :eek:

My father always said if you are going to do something to it right! That sucks

In Texas, we call that carne' guisada, or by the more common term......

Well over 15,000 miles on sleds, and nothng like that has ever happenned...knock on wood. Hope you get it back together soon!

ouch! . . . . i use to have ATV's that i rode in the winter. Took my 250 Tecate' over to a friends and while i was there i had to mix some fuel for it (this was before i trusted oil injection) My buddy tossed me a bottle of two stroke i dumped it in the jug and filled the bike. Made it about a mile before i came to a grinding hault. Turned my buddy had been bleeding the brakes in his truck and was using an empty bottle to catch fluid. You guessed it . . . . he was using an old two stroke oil bottle . . . . the same one he tossed me thinking it was oil. Had similar results as above . . . .:picard1:

nope, we're doing some mods to the current one. Needs more studs and we have to fab some kind of rollbar/arch, DNR said if we put one on it they would treat it as an ATV and we wouldnt need helmets (most of our cruising with that thing is below 20mph but i am truely a believer in helmets) Should be at the Devils Lake tip up town again this year. I will put an OSO sticker on it so we are easy to spot in a crowd :D


Wish i could figure a way to get some more power out of that old girl.

A light hone and a new slug and it'll be good as new. Gotta love them sled motors. Must have sounded like the world came to an end when it let go.

I no it sucks but I just picked up 2 packages of J B weld Ill have it running in no time

That might clean up with a .040 bore.
