The bellhousing pattern is the same as the old smallblock.

Here a few pics of my dead stock LS2 that blew @ 8040 miles. Apparently some of them had issues with the #6 connecting rods. Absolutely loved the motor and almost replaced with built lsx (stayed stock then sold). Even have video of it blowing up at the track....

Good luck with it. I would live to replace my 330 with LS2's but boats not worth it.

I think the LS9 or LSA would be the way to go. The supercharger keeps the torque very fat through the curve. I don't believe the LS7 has as much grunt down low.

550hp 580lbs/ft LSA closed cooling, aluminum manifolds. Under 18k with 2 year warranty..
