what would el indio's old 41 apache run with these???????? ran 94 with 800's........old school and fast

And congrats to Sterling. Not just on the 1700s but with Sterling Engineering as well. Its a tough market with OEMs right now and great to see an upstart doing well. |
I heard that Sterling has the Torque Marine 860ci V12 blocks. Is that what these are? If not, can anyone confirm Sterling has those blocks and if not does anyone know who does?

Final pricing has not been established, but Sterlng's Mike D'Anniballe said (in the first article on it) that the engine will be "way cheaper" than Mercury Racing's 1350. Given that the 1350 with an M8 drive lists for $203,000, that gives Sterling a good bit of pricing latitude. However, it's also worth noting that the Mercury product is in the field and the Sterling product is still in its final stages of development. Sterling does, as I understand, have the Torque V-12 blocks but has not done any development with them. |
