Need Good Deal on Bypass Crossovers
I need to find a good deal on a couple of Bypass Crossovers. The ones I have now are not the bypass model and my engines barely get past 100° and oil not over 140° . I need a bypass so I can run a thermostat. Water is too cold around here.
All help appreciated.

Jim, I got mine from CP Performance they are the Stainless Maine ones. They come with the Thermostats and gaskets and bolts.
I don't remember what I paid but they are competitive with everyone else.
I havn't tried them on my boat yet but a friend of mine with 540's had the same ones you have now and converted to these with no problems.

Jim you are headed in the right direction

you will probably have other problems when you put in the stats.
Your water pressure will prob. go out the roof.
I am no mechanic but I have learned from a pro Gary Grimes in Atlanta 770-475-5272
You should have about 15 to 18 lbs of water pressure at WOT.
You should have at least 180*of oil temp b-4 you run hard.
You shouldn't go over 230* on oil temps.
The oil temps are taken after the oil cooler going back into the engine.
In my opinion you will need what you are saying you want, plus a water system to dump water out the transom to relieve the water pressure the stats are going to cause. It is also a good ideal to have oil stats so that the oil will get up to temps rapidly.
I don't have the oil stat yet and it takes for ever for the oil to get to 180 expecially when the water is cold.
I have spent over a grand monkeying around trying to get my boat right. I wished I would have just done it right the first time and I would have saved a lot of cash. I still have the oil stat thing to do yet.
