12V71 with open headers must be the next loudest thing from a Saturn V rocket... You can hear x71 boat engines coming from 10 miles away even with wet mufflers.

Some Detroit Diesel info, the 1st number in the number of cylinders, the V is the style of block & the last number, 71 in this case is the cubic inches per hole. DD also made a 16V series in the 71 & 92 displacements. |
That thing was in Diesel Power magazine a few months ago.
