Default Question on K-Plane installation

Ok, getting close to putting motors back in the boat. But before I can do that, I need to mount my new Tabs. Quaestion I have is this: I presently have a Bennett system and with dual rams with a single hydraulic feed to each of them. I am installing K Planes with a single ram with dual hydraulic feeds. Can I use my Bennett pump and if so, what will I need to do to accomodate a dual hydraulic feed to each ram? If anyone has some info or knows of someone that can assist, please let me know.
Thanks, Bruce

Bruce whats up dude, So you are gonna try to run K-planes off a Bennett pump, hmmmmmmmmm thats a good question, I think you'll need a pump for each tab, I don't think one pump will do it, call Bennett they should know, good luck and get that thing in the water.

The K-planes are quite a bit longer and probably will have a lot more area.

The extension in length alone will increase the moments about the hinge point significantly. This will translate into greatly increased hydraulic impulse pressures generated by the rams. I highly doubt the Bennet hydraulic pump hardware will take the abuse for long.

I could be wrong, but intuitively, I don't think the bennet pump was overdesigned sufficiently to accept such a large change in work load.

Plus, the bennet pump is single acting (spring return cylinders)and the k-planes are dual. You will need the Merc pumps.

Just found that out. Was hoping to be on the water for next weekend, but not looking good. I am now looking for a good price on Mer pumps. Slight oversight on my part. Don't know what I was thinking. I guess I should have realized with all the re-rigging I have been doing there was more to do.

If I'm not mistaking, you can use a bob's pump he's pretty reasonable. I think there around 200.00 to 225.00 a piece for the pump assem.
