The New Sportboat Magazine Is Out...
#21
I found it at our local grocery store and bought it. Kind of the same stuff as Powerboat.
If there is a magazine for this small niche of boating - quite often the boats being tested are for a small percentage of people within this small niche who can afford the MTI/Skater/ 1075 / turbine equipment...
I like to idea of entry level power plants (496/525) with the occasional over the top boat review... Its just a more realistic read versus a "wow, if I win the lottery...." read. Ya know what I mean?
Also, I think ride alongs would be a great read..
I boat the California Delta once a year (Big Cat Poker run) and for me it is the best boating I do. I go all over in a years time but the Delta is always my favorite. I think if a writer writes about (not the Big Cat Poker run) but writes about a weekend in the Delta -it would be eye opening. I've never done LOTO or the Great Lakes and I don't know if I ever will - but I'd like to read about what it offers i.e.- hang outs, speed areas, types of boaters, crazy party areas..stories like only writers can tell...

I subscribe to about 20 mags and all of them have become very thin.
It is a sign of the times......but support your favorites becuase when things turn around and things are good again...those mags will be back thicker than ever!

Picked up my issue of Sport Boat at Borders last night also. Its geared more towards the average performance boater. I'm ready to subscribe if it goes yearly.

I picked this up at a Jewel/Osco and thought it was a pretty good read. Hope it goes to subcription because $6 an issue is kind of crazy.
